This is the eye-popping futuristic complex at the heart of our inquiry into a global money-go-round, a multi-million dollar property empire, allegations of money laundering and the Tvind Teachers Group.

The Teachers Group, a secretive business corporation that profits from charities including Planet Aid, Gaia and Humana People-to-People, preaches a made-up philosophy called ‘Solidary Humanism’.   The complex here is its temple-like headquarters in Mexico.

‘TG Pacifico’ was built in a remote spot in Baja California overlooking the Pacific at an estimated cost of $10 million, and opened for ‘business’ in 2007.

The high-security luxury compound is protected round the clock by armed security guards. The only visitors are senior leaders of the cult-like organisation, selected ‘trainees’ who have been invited to join its ranks (many from Africa and India), and European staff who operate its worldwide businesses.

The wealthy Teachers Group is a global multinational corporation and comprises covert commercial enterprises, real estate, shops, furniture factories, farms, forestry and used-clothes trading companies, which operate secretly alongside its public face of ‘humanitarian work’ – ‘Solidary Humanism’.

We have established that it is inside this remarkable complex that the organisation’s most senior leaders regularly meet to co-ordinate covert Teacher’s Group commercial activities which run alongside the ‘humanitarian’ schemes – it is a hub of the organisation’s international business. The Teachers Group’s fugitive commander-in-chief, Amdi Petersen, wanted by police, is believed to be a frequent visitor.

Why is the complex located in such a remote spot? And where did the Teachers Group – which often pleads ‘poverty’ – come by the money to build such a spectacular headquarters? Our investigations certainly strongly suggest the likely answer is connected with the millions of dollars stashed away in offshore accounts and tax havens, profits from old clothes sales, business deals, property and commerce.

‘TG Pacifico’ is only one of several extravagant Teachers Group properties – the world headquarters of Humana People-to-People in Zimbabwe is almost as breathtaking.
